Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Limited is a stand-alone company of the BMW Group and is registered in the United Kingdom.
The BMW Group acquired the automotive rights to the Rolls-Royce marque in 1998 and immediately committed to design and build a completely new car to be launched in 2003.
In the period 1998 to 2002 a dedicated design team, based in London, designed the most technically sophisticated and authentic Rolls-Royce ever and true to their promise the new car, The Phantom, was unveiled on January 3, 2003.
During that same period the new Rolls-Royce Motor Cars company also developed and built a new state of the art factory in Goodwood, West Sussex in England.
Most recently in 2006 Rolls-Royce Motor Cars hand built 25 Bespoke cars called Phantom Black. These special cars demonstrate the best in Rolls-Royce design, engineering and craftsmanship and emphasise the Phantom’s impressive performance and dynamic character.
All 25 of the limited run of Phantom Black cars have already been allocated to customers around the world. The Phantom Black specification was created through the Bespoke programme at Goodwood. Bespoke allows Rolls-Royce customers to individually specify their car precisely to their own tastes.
